About Us
Established in July 2000 as a consultancy specialising in high performance/high availability and disaster recovery consultancy to the enterprise and finance industry throughout Australia, US, Europe and Asia. The company was originally known as Technical Architecture Solutions, a reflection of the core capability of the Company in providing solution and enterprise architects, technical risk assessments, data centre design/strategy and remediation to clients around the world. In addition our service delivery also performed unix, database and x86 consolidations to clients.
Over time, the founding name was often abbreviated to the acronym TAS.
Throughout 2003/04 TAS was one of the first consultant companies to pioneer X86 virtualisation in Australia and was also one of VMware’s initial partners and their Authorised Consultant in the region. As such TAS championed, fostered and developed virtualisation in the data centre and was responsible for many clients discovering the virtues and benefits of virtualisation.
The years 2006/07 saw continued growth with the establishment of TAS offices in SA, QLD, WA, VIC and the formalising of TAS as a Microsoft and Storage consulting practice with focus on the wider impact of virtualisation in the enterprise and realisation of the corresponding ROI.
The experience and expertise gained throughout these years saw TAS undertake some of the largest virtusalisation projects across Australia through 2008. TAS’ consultancy was assigned design accountability or independent Quality Assurance on over 5000 sqm of high density data centre space including 2000 sqm in the industry leading Polaris Data Centre in Queensland. This included developing design principles, data centre contracturals, chargeback, definition of expansion blocks and floor layout design.
